Sharon A. Spano

Sharon A (nee Cichy) Spano Of Irving, NY, entered into peaceful rest on the evening of August 17, 2023. She was born in Buffalo, NY on September 20, 1948 to the late Chester and Adele (nee Slisz) Cichy. Devoted wife of James Spano, Cherished and Beloved mother of Amanda (Jason) Taber, Loving sister of Sandra (Kim) Regan and Carol (Brian) Ballas. Loving step-grandmother of Abbey and Cadie Taber. Also survived by nieces Karen Regan, Lauren (Kody) Holt, Colleen (Austin) Hayden, Katie (Sam) Gardner, Christy (Ron) Bradshaw and nephew Alan Yanik, grand-nieces and nephew, and many friends and family. Sherry, as she was known to her friends and family, was a wonderful, compassionate, caring woman. She was the primary caretaker of her husband of 53 years, Jim, who has been ailed with Alzheimers /Dementia for over a decade. She was also an avid reader and Elvis fan. She enjoyed her retirement years in the Sunset Bay community, where she had many friends, and enjoyed an active life. In her younger years, Sherry dedicated herself to being the Best Mother on Earth, carting her only child (Amanda) Mandie to a different activity every night, in addition to co-leading a Camp Fire troop with her late friend Julie. She continued being the Best Mother on Earth by being her daughters biggest supporter, no matter how crazy the idea was, and by extending herself as a second "mom" to many of Mandies friends. She was a faithful, compassionate woman, who was loved by many. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, 885 Niagara Falls Blvd on Wednesday August 23rd from 4 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 24th at 9:30 am at St. Andrews Church, 1525 Sheridan Dr, Kenmore, NY 14217.
