Shirley C Morris

MORRIS - Shirley Carolyn Shirley Carolyn Morris, 87, of Buffalo, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Shirley was born to Willie Mack Woods and Doris Griffin on June 22, 1934, in Warren, Arkansas. Seeking greater opportunities, Shirley and her family moved from Arkansas to NYC, in 1937. There she had a daughter, Brenda Jones. In 1958, pregnant with her son, Curtis Morris, she relocated from NYC to Buffalo, NY, where she was baptized as a Jehovah Witness. Shirley worked as a Dental Assistant at the VA Hospital until her retirement in 2008. Shirley was an intelligent, self-less, and altruistic woman. She loved watching Jeopardy, reading, traveling, gardening and especially loved spending time with her loved ones. Shirley was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Lawrence Woods, Curtis Woods and William Woods; two sisters, Marsha (Alfred) Jones and Dorothy (Leslie) Peach; and daughter, Brenda Jones. She is survived by her son, Curtis (Susan) Morris; niece, Sabrina Woods; nephew, Derek (Toni) Woods; five grandchildren, April Callens, Horace Thompson, Curtis Morris Jr., Latoya Morris and Ehlaina Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Chatman, Amaya Banks,Jahun Anderson and Dream; four great- great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Justin, Justice and Tyeanna; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews. The family of the late Shirley C. Morris wishes to express their gratitude to all who have shown their expressions of sympathy and love during this time of bereavement.
