Siegfried Bruckner

BRUCKNER - Seigfriend Of Tonawanda, entered into rest on December 31, 2022. Father of Mario Bruckner; treasured friend of Gisela Driscoll. Fred was a member of the Schlaraffia German Club. Fred was born and living in Poland when Germany invaded Poland in 1939 and immigrated to the United States in 1949. Fred escaped Germany after the war by jumping a merchant marine ship and ended up in Canada. He joined the Canadian Navy and spent twelve years including a tour on a destroyer during the Korean War. He also studied history at Manitoba University and also worked for the Canadian government. Mr. Brueckner left Canada for family in Cleveland and then moved to Buffalo where he was a Quality engineer at Watson-Bowman. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert/ Sheridan Dr. on Monday (January 23) from 10 AM-12 Noon.
