Of Williamsville, formerly of Kenmore, entered into rest on August 10, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Robert Miller; devoted mother of Eric (Kelly) Miller, Craig (Kelsey) Miller, Allison (David) Akers, and the late Kurt Miller; cherished "Ammy" of Colin, Alexandra, Anna, Bobby, Lindsay, Maeve, Abigail, August, and the late Rylie; loving daughter of the late Edward and Helen (nee Evans) Leman; dear sister of Patrick Leman (Maria Palamara), Lawrence (Lynda) Leman, Cheryl Cain, and the late Donna (Layton) Hey and Laurie Leman; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Sue was born and raised on Buffalo's West Side, later making her home in Kenmore, where she raised her family with her beloved husband, Bob. A graduate of Nardin Academy, she earned a bachelor’s degree from D'Youville College and a master’s degree in social work from the University at Buffalo.

Throughout her career, Sue was dedicated to helping children and families, shepherding them through both hard and joyous times. She served as an adoption social worker at Our Lady of Victory Infant Home and therapist at Child & Family Services. In Children’s Hospital’s therapeutic preschool program, Sue supported children with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges and their families. At Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Sue served as a social worker in the prenatal clinic. At the conclusion of her career, she completed adoption home studies for Surrogate’s Court.

She was an enthusiastic volunteer and tireless advocate for social justice, generously sharing her time and talents with organizations including Journey's End Refugee Services, Friends of the Night People, the Nicaraguan Mission Project, adult literacy programs, and many other causes supporting marginalized and underserved communities. During Buffalo's annual Turkey Trot, runners could count on seeing Sue enthusiastically directing traffic, one of the many ways she contributed to the community she loved. She was truly a proud Buffalonian.

Sue was a voracious reader, an exceptional listener, and a trusted source of wisdom for family and friends. She possessed a rare gift for making others feel heard and valued through meaningful conversation, often over a cup of tea. Above all, Sue cherished her family. She considered being a mother and grandmother her greatest blessing. She delighted in bringing people together through shared meals and family vacations. Some of her happiest memories were made during annual family trips to Allegany State Park, where generations gathered to share stories, laughter, and quality time together. 

A devoted parishioner of St. Joseph University Parish, Sue’s faith inspired a lifelong commitment to kindness and service. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the family she loved so deeply.

Relatives and friends may visit Lombardo Funeral Home (Snyder Chapel), 4614 Main St. near Harlem Rd. on Friday, August 28th from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph University Parish, 3269 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14214 on Saturday, August 29th at 10AM. Please assemble at church. Private inurnment at Mt. Olivet will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
