Sybilla June Hayes (nee Wagner)

Of West Seneca, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Edward P. Jr. Sybilla was devoted to her family, leaving behind cherished memories with her children: Edward (Cheryl), Michael (Marianne), Patricia (Richard) Alberalla, Ronald (Cheryl), Dorothy (Douglas) Moses, and Sally (Michael) Tenhagen. She was a beloved grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Ronald and sisters-in-law Linda Wagner, Patricia Roehrig, Norma Nail, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Affectionately known as "Syb," she was the daughter of William and Ethel Wagner. Syb graduated early from West Seneca West High School at the age of 16 and married her sweetheart, Edward, in 1956. After dedicating herself to raising her six children, she returned to work at Sears Credit Central as a bookkeeper. In retirement, Syb found joy in babysitting her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also enjoyed traveling with her children across the U.S. and Europe. Syb took immense pride in her family and their accomplishments. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, never missing a game in her lucky Bills jacket. She had a knack for numbers, mastering Sudoku and Wordle with ease.

She had been active in the Holy Name Society and the Mother's Club of St. Bonaventure and was a member of St. John XXIII parish. Syb will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Visitation will be held at Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, NY, on Wednesday (June 4) from 2-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day at St. John XXIII, 1 Arcade Street, Buffalo, NY at 12PM. Please assemble at Church. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
