Teresa J. Becker

Becker - Teresa "Terri" Josephine Reid March 15, 1960 - August 12, 2023 Recently of Corfu, NY, predeceased by her beloved husband Peter J. Becker; survived by brothers and sisters Francis (Deborah) Reid, Felicia (James) Kreuzer, Thomas (Sue) Reid, Cecilia (Kevin) Driscoll, Elizabeth (late Thomas) Murphy, Rosetta (Patrick) Railey, and the late Mary Rose Reid; also survived by numerous nieces/nephews, grand-nephews; loving daughter of the late George C. Reid and the late Dorothy M. (Peterson) Reid. Teresa grew up on Townline Road and attended Alden schools where she was involved in the band as a flutist and where she met her future husband, Volunteer Firefighter Peter Becker. His profession motivated Teresa to become involved in the Ladies Auxiliary. She graduated from Alden High School in 1978, got married shortly after, and worked in the food service industry, later completing her business degree from Bryant & Stratton. She and Pete enjoyed living in sunny Winter Park, Florida until Peter passed in 2003. True born and bred WNY-ers, the couple were enthusiastic Buffalo Bills fans wherever they resided. She later lived for a time with friends in Brownsburg, IN before returning home to NY. Teresa was active in her church, a member of the Alden Community Band, an avid mystery novel reader, and loved her cats. She enjoyed seeing photos of her younger relatives and hearing of their activities, and kept busy with sewing and other handcrafts. Donations in her memory can be made to the Bills charity "Give716." Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2021 Sandridge Road, Alden NY, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10 AM.
