COVERT, Teresa M. With profound sadness we announce the passing of Teresa, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on April 9, 2023. She left us peacefully while in Comfort Care at ECMC; surrounded by her loved ones. She was in her 62nd year. Born in New Mexico, and residing on the west coast for a while, she made her journey across the country and settled in New York, with her husband of 37 years, Dwane Sr., by her side. She was the beloved mother of Jennifer (Mark), Mathew, and predeceased by Dwane Jr. (Jeanette), proud grandmother of Matty, Ryan, Dwane, Cameron, and Zoe. She was the beloved "adopted" mother to many neighborhood youths that her and her husband opened their home too. Teresa lived a life full of love and laughter and pain and tears. She was a Gold Star mother. After Teresa broke her back decades ago, she became very limited on doing daily activities. She filled her days mainly as a homemaker and was highly skilled with quilting and scrapbooking, and enjoyed her outings to the bingo halls. She loved spending time with her friends she had made at her quilting and scrapbooking clubs and when she attended medical assistant schooling. Even though, her pain levels would reach high elevations, she never gave up, she kept moving forward and kept on fighting. After her diagnosis with cancer, she continued to fight until her body forced her to now rest. Out of everything she has done throughout her life, she loved her family and friends the most. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of Teresas life will be held at 1200 Parker Blvd, Town of Tonawanda, New York on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4 to 9 p.m.
