Theodore J. Singleton

Theodore James was an only child born on June 6, 1942 in Lackawanna, NY to Theodore James Sr. He was raised in Lackawanna by his mother and stepfather, Gertrude and Tom Peterman. He fell asleep in death on September 11, 2016 at Buffalo General hospital after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. "Tedd" graduated from Lincoln Junior High and thereafter served in the United States Army for 3 years. He also served in the National Reserves. He retired from the Ford Stamping Plant in 2004 after over 30 years. On January 1, 2000 he was united in marriage to Casey Jones. They made wonderful memories of their life together, many of which included family trips, cruises & concerts. If you were to find a picture of them together, you would see the happiness they gave to each other. Tedd was a lover of music. A true musician, he played lead guitar in several bands in the Lackawanna & Buffalo area. If you were to go to his home, you would find stacks of beautiful recordings that he composed. He enjoyed singing and even within a week of this death, he was enjoying time playing his keyboard. His musical talent was inherited by his children who he love to spend time with. They would make music, singing and playing different instruments together. Aside from music, Ted also made many memories with his special friends, Charlie Washington & Reese Barnes well known as the "Three Amigos", watching boxing fights in each other's home. Ted leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Casey Jones-Singleton; five children from a previous marriage: one daughter, Cherese Thomas, Conyers GA; four sons: Andre, Albany, NY, Blair(Lisa) Conyers, GA, Darnell(Michelle), Dunkirk, NY and Dawain, Tucker, GA; seven grandchildren: Candise, Jamisa, Adrian, Shiannne, Emmanuel, DeMarco and Darion; three great grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria and Howard III. Relatives and friends may visit LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, (City Chapel), 102 Linwood Ave. at Summer on Friday from 2-3 PM where the funeral service will immediately follow.
