Theresa 'Terry' Marek) Iwankow

IWANKOW, Theresa H. "Terry" (nee Marek) April 27, 1933 March 30, 2024 Of Lackawanna, entered into rest March 30, 2024 at the age of 90. A devote Roman Catholic and family ANGEL, who strongly followed God, Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary and believed in Catholic, Polish and family traditions. While her family was preparing for her favorite holiday, Easter, including Blessing of the Food Baskets which was a tradition to her, Terry decided it was time to be called to Heaven to be with the Lord on Holy Saturday and to join her wonderful Spouse, the late Stanley A. Iwankow as well as his and her heavenly family and their late son, Danny. "Mom" to Thomas (Judy), Bobby (Michelle), Christopher (Jennifer) and the late Danny (Kristine) Iwankow and the best family member to Len Uglesich. Daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline (nee Sancawa) Marek. Sister of Helen Marek and the late Fred, Peter, Joe, Michael and Barbara Marek; Terry dearly cherished, loved and constantly prayed for her 23 grandchildren (especially Michael Iwankow, who continuously visited and aided her) and her great-grandchildren. To all she touched and all who constantly visited her, she will be greatly missed, loved and always in our hearts. She loved her hobbies of making ceramics, which she gifted to her children and family at holidays; growing gardens, decorating for and celebrating every holiday and being the best family baker and cook. Special thanks to all the wonderful aides at Aurora Park who watched over her, especially Sydney. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Rd. (at the corner of South Park Ave.) on Saturday (April 6) at 9:15AM. Please assemble at Church. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask everyone to follow/recite the Rosary for Terry. If desired, donations may be made in her name to The Cause for the Canonization of Father Baker.
