Thomas Joseph “Tom” Dunne, III, of Tonawanda, entered into rest on August 26, 2025.

He was born in Niagara Falls on October 19, 1960, the son of Thomas Joseph Dunne Jr. and the late Sarah (nee Rugg) Hamilton.

He graduated from Kenmore East High School in 1978 and later received his Bachelors degree in Business Education from Buffalo State College in 1983.

Tom worked in accounting his entire career, notably at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, Higgins Erectors and Haulers and Ellicott Development Corp., in Buffalo, NY. His real passion was being an umpire, which he enjoyed doing in both New Jersey and in Buffalo, NY.

He married Carleen A. Patcyk on July 19, 1986 in Kenmore, New York.

In his spare time, Tom enjoyed sports of all types, especially baseball, basketball and football. He was a huge Red Sox fan. Tom had a sense of wit, that was unrivaled by most. He coached his daughter's softball and basketball teams. He was an active participant in his son's softball and sled hockey teams. Tom was caring and touched the lives of so many people and once committed would do anything to provide assistance. He never gave up on his commitments.

Tom was a board member of the George Washington Club and a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 6.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Hamilton.

He was a devoted husband of 39 years to Carleen A. Dunne; a beloved father of Pierce Thomas Dunne and Devon Ann Dunne (Micheal Brunswick); cherished future grandfather of a baby boy; a loving son of Thomas (Carol) Dunne, Jr.; a dear brother to Susan (Ted) Elioff, Wendy (James) Bacon and John (Marlene) Dunne; also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
