Valorie Hicks

Valorie Hicks (Nee: Scott) entered into rest on October 11, 2016. Ms. Hicks was born on September 13, 1950 to Margaret (nee: Robinson) and Radie Scott. She grew up in Newark, New Jersey, married and gave birth to four daughters. Valorie became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1986. She worked as a secretarial assistant for many years at Montclair State University, Essex County Division of Welfare and Essex County Food Stamp Program. When she retired in 2008, she purchased a home and moved to Cheektowaga, New York to spend more time with her grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her siblings Sharon Ruffin, Dwayne Scott and daughter Serea Hicks. Valorie is survived by her sister, Cynthia Taylor, daughters, Jacquetta Morse, Simone Scott and Teeya Quinn, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Val will be greatly missed and remembered for her quick wit and kind heart. A private memorial will be held by the family.
