Vernita Marie Camp

CAMP - Vernita Marie (nee Billups) Age 63, of Buffalo, NY, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Vernita was born January 17, 1959 in Buffalo, NY, to Harrison and Mable Billups. She attended The Park School, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and DYouville College. She spent many years working for Goldome Bank, before becoming an Associate Real Estate Broker for over 25 years with Century21, Hunt Real Estate, and Clanton Real Estate, to name a few. For the past 36 years, Vernita selflessly dedicated herself to her children, and her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Vernita was affectionately known as Mama Camp throughout the community, cooking, serving, and always showing up for and supporting everyone connected to her children. A mother, grandmother, professional, teacher, musician, and so much more, Mama Camp had many skills, and mastered them all. Vernita is survived by her parents, Harrison and Mable Billups; siblings, Barbara (Orson) Tartt, Michael (Penny) Billups, and Ramsey (Yvette) Billups; children, Kevin (Amber) Camp, Asia (Matthew) Becton, and Moriah Camp; grandchildren, Matthew Jr. and Myla; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In eternal rest, Vernita joined her younger sister, Audrey Billups-Grant. A Celebration of Life Concert will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Elim Christian Fellowship, 70 Chalmers Ave, Buffalo, NY. Doors open at 1:00pm.
