MILKIE, Vita M. (nee Maggiotto) - Age 89, she was born in Buffalo to her immigrant parents, the late Silvio and Grace (nee Migliardi) Maggiotto, and grew up with her siblings, Elena (late Albert) Booth and the late Joseph (Mary) Maggiotto. Vita worked at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, prior to meeting her husband of 66 years, the late Ramon Milkie Sr. Together they had 4 children, Michele (Joseph) Fortuna, Ramon, Jr. (Reva Wolski), John (Christine) and Suzanne Fortushniok; 9 grandchildren, Danielle, Joey, Deanna (Steve), Angelina, Josh, Anthony (Janessa), Dominic, Vita, Elena and 8 great-grandchildren, Santino, Gionni, Lucas, Jessie, Marquise, Ramona, Silvio and Gino. Vita raised her family, while working full time, and always caring for her home. She was an amazing cook, especially noted for her baking skills. Her family loved her pies, cakes, breads, and Italian cookies. Vita worked alongside her husband, running his business, MVR Equipment, and worked for many years prior to that at Fibron Products, specializing in making wooden handle knives. She had such a close relationship with her grandchildren, and will be missed by her entire family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst on Tuesday January 6 at 10 o'clock. Please assemble at church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice Buffalo. Condolences may be made at www.lombardofuneralhome.com.
