Vito S. Sabett

Vito S. Sabett, age 85, of Hamburg, NY, died on November 24, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1938, in Old Forge, PA and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. Vito graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology. He spent the first part of his career at Airco Speer Corporation performing research with electron microscopy. Later, he moved into finance and had a career working as a medical center business manager. Vito loved spending time with his family and traveling to Disney and South Carolina. He also enjoyed gardening, watching Buffalo Bills games, and was an avid reader of all kinds of books. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Vito/Mike/Poppy/Cookie will be deeply missed. Vito is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Mackiewicz) Sabett; a son, Randy V. Sabett and his wife Marina; a daughter, Sara Gelbaugh and her husband Mitch; step-sons, Rob (Lynnette), Ron (Karen), Rick (Kamara) and Randie (Robyn) Torgalski; sister, Marie Lang; cherished "Poppy" of Christi (Michael), Michael, Bella, Madeline and Andrew; adored "Cookie" of Courtney, Emily, Julia, Joey, Nick, Tyler, Alyssa, Ben and Owen Torgalski.. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sabett, mother, Josephine Sabett, brother Anthony Sabett; and his first wife, Geraldine Wisner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4263 St. Francis Dr., Hamburg on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 10am.
