William C. Fortune

William C. "Bill" Fortune, 85, of Tonawanda, entered into rest on December 29, 2024. He was born on April 23, 1939 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Wilfred and Loraine (nee Holslag) Fortune. William married Judith Sloan on May 19, 1967. He was also a millwright at Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 2000. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed the pool and the sunshine. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He looked forward to spending his free time with his grandchildren and watching the Bills play on Sundays. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Thomas Fortune. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Fortune; three children, Kathleen Fortune, Deborah (Zach) Gisleson and Joanna (Josh) Ritchie; five grandchildren, Sloan Gisleson, Tucker Gisleson, Macklin Gisleson, Lennon Ritchie and Gwen Ritchie; his sister, Kathleen (David) Groves and several nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may visit Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert/ Sheridan Dr. on Saturday, January 4 from 10am-12pm. Flowers gratefully declined.
