William M Gilmour

William "Mark" Gilmour of Orchard Park, NY passed away on April 19, 2024 following a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Mark, a third-generation Harness Horse trainer and driver hailed from a family deeply rooted in Harness Racing, with his father and grandfather being Hall of Fame members. Despite no longer being an active participant, his love of Harness Racing never waned. He was an easy-going guy with a great love of music, sharing his favorite music with others and going to concerts in a way that made it fun for those going with him. Mark was born in Wilmington, North Carolina. He spent his formative years in Westbury, NY in the shadow of Roosevelt Raceway and later made his home in Orchard Park. He is survived by his longtime partner, Ann Pascarella and sisters Karen (Alan) Murphy, Laurie Morningstar and Lisa Gilmour. He was predeceased by parents Gwen and Buddy Gilmour and grandparents Arlene and Levi Harner and William and Peg Gilmour. He is also survived by five beloved nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at J's White Elephant, 1404 Abbott Rd., Lackawanna, NY on Saturday June 29 at 1:00 PM. Burial of his ashes will be at the Jerseytown Cemetery (near Bloomsburg, PA) on June 27.
