William Walter Glassmire

January 26, 1929 — June 7, 2024

Glassmire, William W. - Of Clarence Center, formerly of Kenmore, entered peacefully into eternal rest on June 7, 2024. Bill was in the care of Brother's of Mercy when he passed. The family is grateful for the care provided by the aides, nurses and staff. He is survived by his three children: David R. Glassmire, Cathleen M. (Mark) Dechert, and Lynn A. Wyland. Grandmother of Kelly (Aaron) Marco, Emily Mroz (fianc Sean Pacheco), and Colleen Mroz (fianc Matt Klimeck), Brandyn and Christian Wyland; brother-in-law of James J. Hazel (late Jo Ann); Uncle of Jackie (Craig) Wachob and Jim (Kathy) Hazel. There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM from St. John the Baptist Parish (Neumann Chapel), 1085 Englewood Avenue, Kenmore NY on Saturday, July 20th, 2024. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna, NY. Friends and relatives are kindly asked to assemble at Church. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and served stateside as a mechanic with 504th Air, Company H. He received his parachute badge, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Scouting USA in Bill's memory.
