William was a lifelong leader in the deaf community holding positions with Buffalo Club of the Deaf, E.D.B.A., G.L.D.B.A. and D.S.B.A. He was a member of the 1965 Deaf Olympic U.S. Soccer team and inductee into the R.S.D.
