William Lepera

Of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest suddenly September 7, 2014, beloved son of Marie and the late Francis Lepera; dear brother of Barbara (Donald) Gubbins, Vincent (Shannon Heneghan) Lepera, the late Susan (Bruce) Geldard; also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and lifetime friend Christine Kingston. William Anthony (affectionately called Billy Bodean), passed away suddenly in his home on Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY Sunday, September 7th. Billy was born on December 4th 1957 on Buffalo's west side. He was a student of Horticulture design at McKinley High School. After High School, Billy worked for Local 91 in Niagara Falls under the direction of his father. When his father retired in 1983, Bill joined him in opening a business - The Delaware Caf Restaurant and Lounge - in North Buffalo. It was there at 'the caf' that Billy showcased his ability as a talented master carpenter. He transformed an old dingy bar into a 'jewel', from crown moldings, tiled ceilings, wainscotings, gorgeous restored hardwood, leaded glass partitions, and antique cabinetry. He did much of this from salvaged materials. Billy also constructed the deck and stairs at One Niagara in Niagara Falls when it opened as a visitors and welcome center in 2006. He was known by many area antique dealers and he had a strong hand in the restoration of many prominent mansions on Buffalo's west side and Delaware Park area. He had a passion for antiques and had many collections such as watches, pocket watches, walking canes, coins and toys. 'He was a perfectionist and had a keen eye for detail', said his sister Barb as she reflected on the months of hard labor when he restored and remodeled her apartment in The Parkway Condos in Niagara Falls. He was equally impeccable with his wardrobe as well. He will be sadly missed by his family, his mother Marie (late Frank), sister Barbara Ann (Don) Gubbins, his brother Vincent (Shannon Heneghan). He was an avid dog lover and will also be missed by his loving furry companions Bailey and Misty Lou. He is also the brother of the late Susan Marie (Bruce)
