Willie Belle Yates

Sister Willie Bell (Profit) Yates went home to be with God on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born December 4, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio, one of eight children born to the late Esther Clark (Profit) Davis and William Profit.

Willie Bell attended Steubenville High School. In her later years she attended Erie Community College, receiving a degree in Associate Applied Science and a Bachelors Degree of Science from Medaille College, Buffalo, NY in 1986.

Wille Bell's work career began with the Goodwill Industry as well as Buffalo Urban League of Buffalo, NY.

Willie Bell absolutely loved life to the fullest, especially dancing, playing pool, riding motorcycles reading her Bible and working with various organizations such as Juneteenth and the Erie County Fair. One of her greatest loves was organizing family reunions.

Willie Bell was a avid church member attending Shiloh Baptist Church and also a member of Free Spirit Missionary Baptist Church, she also attended Pilgrim Baptist Church where she played the piano and sang in the choir.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Roland Dale Yates, two brothers, three sisters and on great-grandson.

Willie leaves to cherish her loving memory, Ernita (Yates) Holt-Green of Buffalo, NY, Dallene of Columbus, Ohio, Pamela Yates Richardson (Tony) and Esther Yates of Buffalo, NY. Two sisters: Mary (Nick) Barnes and Mary Jane Brown of Steubenville, Ohio. Six grands, 21 great grands, five great-great g\rands, as well as  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and former sister-in-law, Liz Profit of Charlotte, NC.
