Maria Rosa, 64, of Buffalo entered rest on November 16, 2023 with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her mother Leonor Cruz and her father Jose Morales.  Predeceased by her son Javier Juan Rosa (Budda). Survived by her daughters Iris Rosa, Clarissa Acosta (Juan) and daughter in law, Carolina Prado. Grandmother to Arlisa Molson, Jordan Ernest-Rosa, Avian Rosa, Alexis Lozada, Veronica Rosa, Kaizer Acosta, Alexei Lozada, Javier A. Rosa, Izabel Acosta and Arianna Lozada. Great-grandmother to Zaila Edmonds, Jayce Ernest-Rosa, Analaiyah Gaymon, Amiri Edmonds and Khioma Acosta. Also survived by her many siblings, family, and friends. 

Maria was affectionally called Margie by many. She was well known for her charismatic personality and touched the lives of everyone that she met. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. From times where she would make us watch her novellas, play wrestling with her grandchildren, teaching us how to dance, playing rummy, talking to her siblings for hours or simply cooking a hot home cooked meal.  Her clever banter, unexpected comments and playful sarcasm would light up the room.  She had the ability to stand up for each one of us, while simultaneously letting us know where we needed to grow.  We are blessed because she loved us.  She was and will always be our strength when we are weak.

She will be missed by her immediate and extended family, community members who became an extension of her family, and the many peoples whose lives she touched and influenced.

We ask that you wear yellow to honor her memory since it was her favorite color.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Lombardo Funeral Home – Northtowns Chapel, from 4:00 to 7:30 PM. No burial will follow.
