NICAISE - Robert J., Sr. Of Hamburg, entered into rest January 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Shirley M (nee Heslink); devoted father of Robert J. Nicaise, Jr., Kurt C. (Susan Mospens) Nicaise, Suzanne M. Weeks, Steven G. (Carolyn) Nicaise, Katherine A. (George) Steffen, Kenneth E. (Debbie) Nicaise, John J. (Valerie Goodman) Nicaise, Lisa L. (Frank) Nowakowski, Thomas P. (Dawn) Nicaise, and Daniel A. Nicaise; cherished grandfather of Nicholas Nicaise, Holly Montalvo, Shawn Nowakowski, Megan Yohe, Samuel Nicaise, Andrew Weeks, Shannon Nicaise, Christopher Nicaise, Nolan Nicaise, Patrick Nicaise, Allyson Weeks, Gregory Nicaise, Alexander Nicaise, Avani Nicaise; adored greatgrandfather of 10; loving son of the late Nicholas J. and Susanna (nee Herrscher) Nicaise; dear brother of Joan Urban, Ruth Smokowski, and Irene Baird-Warren, and the late Susanne Nicaise; also survived by many family and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. near Lake Ave. on Monday from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in SS Peter & Paul Church, 66 E Main St., Hamburg on Tuesday morning at 10 AM, please assemble at the church. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Robert was a civil engineer and licensed land surveyor. He retired after 40 years with the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Buffalo. He was a parishioner and usher at SS Peter & Paul RC Church. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 400 and a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul Society.
