BALON - Walter F. Of Lackawanna entered into rest suddenly December 17, 2022. Beloved husband of 71 years to Mamie (nee Fiore) Balon; devoted father of Walter A. (Ellen), Joseph (Susan), James (Monica) Balon, Julie Radder, and Annette Balon; cherished grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 6; loving son of the late Walter A. Balon and the late Anna (late Julius) Bajorek; dear brother of Modesta "Tootsie" (late James) Cronin and the late Marion (late John) Biganski and the late Florence (late Louis) McGowan; also survived by many family and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Thursday (December 29th) from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna on Friday morning at 9:15 oclock. Please assemble at Church. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. Walter was a United States Marine Veteran and a retired Lackawanna Firefighter.
